Anthology keeps the games you track so you can see them on any device. We don't show ads, we don't sell your data, and you can download or delete everything at any time.

What we store

  • Without an account, your collection stays in your browser. Nothing about it is sent to our database.
  • Your Google account: when you sign in, we receive your name, email address, profile photo and a Google account ID. We use them to sign you in and show who is signed in.
  • Your collection: the games you save and everything you record about them, such as status, platform, ownership, finish dates, ratings, notes, custom lists and your order.
  • Steam, if you connect it: your Steam ID, the games you own, hours played, achievements and a day-by-day record of the hours we notice changing.
  • RetroAchievements, if you connect it: your username and the public progress it shows.
  • Email backups, if you turn them on: how often to send them and when the last one went out. Each emailed copy is kept for up to 7 days so it can be delivered, then deleted.
  • A public profile, only if you turn one on: your display name, photo, bio and saved games (except games marked Not for me) become visible to anyone with the link.

Analytics

With your permission, we use Google Analytics to learn which pages and features people use, such as adding a game or finishing one. It records pages viewed, your device and browser, an approximate location and, when you are signed in, a random account ID (never your name or email). It sets cookies in your browser. Google Analytics keeps this for up to 14 months.

Analytics stays off until you allow it, and you can change your choice here at any time.

Checking your choice…

Your browser

We save some things in your browser's storage so the site works: your guest collection, light or dark theme, preferences, short-lived caches and your sign-in. Connecting Steam uses a short-lived cookie to finish the connection safely. These are needed for the features you use and are not used for tracking.

Services we rely on

  • Google Firebase handles sign-in and stores your account and collection. Google Analytics runs only if you allow it.
  • Vercel hosts the site. Like any web host, it sees your IP address and keeps short-lived request logs. We use your country, from your IP address, to show store prices in your currency; we don't store it.
  • Resend sends email backups, only if you turn them on.
  • Steam and RetroAchievements provide your library and progress when you connect them.
  • RAWG, IGDB and IsThereAnyDeal provide game details, covers and prices. We ask them about games, never about you.
  • Google Fonts serves the site's typeface, so Google sees your IP address when the font loads.

These services may process data outside your country, including in the United States.

Your choices

  • Download your whole collection anytime from Settings → Your library, to keep.
  • Disconnect Steam or RetroAchievements on their pages. Games and progress you already saved stay until you remove them.
  • Delete your account from Settings → Account. This permanently erases your collection, lists, connections, playtime history and backup settings from our database and removes your sign-in. It can't be undone.
  • Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask what we hold, correct it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we'll reply within 30 days.

How long we keep it

Your account data stays until you delete it or your account. Guest data stays in your browser until you clear it.

Children

Anthology isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above, and tell signed-in players about important changes. Questions or requests: privacy@anthology.my. See also the Terms.
